Earlier, a listing in Samsung’s US website revealed that there would be a 128 GB storage option for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Sadly, this was a mistake, according to Samsung.
NO 128 GB option for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus or Samsung Galaxy Note 5
When Samsung lifted the lid on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Note fans were disappointed to find out that the phablets did not come with microSD card slots. Additionally, the two only came in 32 GB to 64 GB storage options, which meant less storage options. When the listing in the US went live, Note fans were relieved to find out that a 128 GB option would be available just like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. This, however, was a mistake.
Speaking to CNET, a Samsung spokesperson reaffirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 would only be available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options, adding that the 128 GB listing was an “error,” and that the website was in “process of being updated.” In other words, there will not be a 128 GB option.
Is 32 GB or 64 GB enough?
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is advertised as a powerful tool for multitasking and productivity. One example is Note 5 users having to ability to draw on the screens of their phablets using the S Pen. However, if you are a user who heavily uses this feature and constantly saves his or her work on just 32 GB or 64 GB of storage space, you can understand how this may not be enough to store all of your files. A 128 GB storage option may have been a solution to this problem. Sadly, a higher storage option is clearly not going to happen.
In the UK, only the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be available, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will only be sold in select markets such as the US. While the S6 Edge Plus does not come with an S Pen like the Note 5, having only 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage space may still not be enough for the heavy user, especially if that user likes to download a lot of games.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is now available for pre-order in the UK and will launch on the 4th of September. Will you buy one even is only a 32 GB or 64 GB storage option is available? Drop a comment on our Phones LTD Facebook page.
