We know that Samsung will lift the lid on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on the 21st of February in Barcelona, Spain (a day before MWC 2016 kicks off in the country), but what about its launch? We haven’t come across a specific launch date, until now.
March 11 launch?
This new rumour comes to us courtesy of serial leakster Evan Blass (popularly known as @evleaks on Twitter). Blass suggests that Samsung could launch the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on the 11th of March. Well, in the US at least. Although it is unclear when the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be available in the UK, we’re guessing it will arrive on our shores at around the same as its US release.
Here’s the tweet:

Here’s what we know so far. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is said to feature a 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is said to feature a larger 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). The S7 is expected to feature different processors depending on the market. For US and Chinese markets, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC is expected to be found under the hood. For international markets (including the UK), the Samsung Exynos 8890 SoC is expected to be found under the hood. 4 GB of RAM is expected to be on board. In the photography department, the S7 is expected to feature a new and larger 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that is more ideal in low-light conditions and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. Unlike the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, the S7 and S7 Edge is expected to feature a microSD card slot for additional storage options. Also, unlike the S6, the the S7 is expected to be IP67-certified, meaning it will be water and dust proof. As for design, the S7 is expected to look a lot like its predecessor.
Of course, since Samsung is yet to officially announce the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, take this with a pinch of salt. Anyway, you won’t have to wait very long to find out, as the 21st of February is just weeks away.
