Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge) soon, with the device spotted getting certified by Malaysia.
We’ve learned from previous reports that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 4-protected screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (QHD), a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, 32 GB to 64 GB of internal storage, no microSD card slot, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with a Mali-T760 MP8 GPU to handle graphics, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It will be 6.9 mm thick and weigh in at 156 g. It will be 7.6 mm thick and weigh in at 169 g. It will run Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. It will not come with an S Pen like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. We’ve seen a render that reveals that the phablet will come with an optional QWERTY keyboard case.
Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, alongside the Galaxy Note 5 and a mystery tablet, on the 13th of August at its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event in New York City. Word on the street is, the device will be launched on the 21st of August.
