Goldgenie, a company that is known for gold-plating smartphones, will start accepting pre-orders for its luxury Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Of course, since the smartphone’s will be clad in precious metals, don’t expect any of these options to come cheap. The cheapest option will set you back £832 (exclusive of VAT).
Like we mentioned earlier, the cheapest option will set you back £832.08 ( VAT not included). This will get you a 32 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 clad in 24 k gold. The most expensive option will set you back a whopping £1,182.09 (VAT not included). This will get you the 128 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge clad in platinum.
Aside from being clad in precious metals, everything else under the hood will stay the same. Specs will still include a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD) and a pixel density of 577 ppi, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) made by Sony, a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, 3 GB of DDR4 RAM, LTE Cat.6 (300/50Mbps) connectivity, support for wireless charging, and a 2,550 mAh battery for the the S6 and a 2,600 mAh battery for the S6 Edge. They will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box with a 64-bit TouchWiz UI slapped on top.
