French-speaking Planet Galaxy noticed that the Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) update for units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 in France has begun to roll out. The update includes enhancements and new features such as being able to sort applications alphabetically and a revamped camera app that now allows you to adjust exposure from the viewfinder. The update’s size is 623 MB.
Meanwhile, SamMobile noticed that the update is rolling out in the UK as well for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
|Model name||GALAXY S6 Edge|
|Country||United Kingdom / Ireland|
|Build date||Fri, 19 Jun 2015 22:28:37 +0000|
There is, however, some bad news. The update does not address the RAM issue that has been plaguing the Korean tech giant’s new flagships. In another report from SamMobile, it reports, “Now for the bad part: it looks like the RAM issue that’s plagued the device seems to persist; the phone boots with 58% of RAM used which quickly rockets to over 80% when you start using the phone.”
We’re hoping that Samsung addresses the RAM issue of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge in an update soon.
