Wondering when your Samsung smartphone will be getting Android 4.4.4 (KitKat)? A leaked roadmap, courtesy of XDA forums, shows when the update will be rolling out to the Galaxy S5, Note 3, S4, S4 Mini, and Note 2.
The roadmap reveals that the Galaxy S5 and Note 3 will be getting the update sometime this month. The remaining devices on the list, including the S4, S4 Mini, and Note 2 will be getting the update sometime in November. However, it is still uncertain if the remaining devices will get the update, since they are listed under “final testing” or “pending.”
So why is Samsung in a hurry to roll out Android 4.4.4 to these devices? It seems the Korean tech giant is getting these devices ready for Android L, which is scheduled to be launched anytime soon.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
Note that updates are still subject to testing by network operators, so expect SIM-free or unlocked handsets to get updates first before handsets locked to a carrier.
