Past reports claimed that the unannounced Galaxy A9 featured a 5.5-inch screen. A new listing however, puts that rumour to rest, as it lists the device with a 6-inch screen.
Samsung Galaxy A9 to sport a 6-inch screen?
The screenshot above was taken from India’s import/export database Zauba. It lists a Samsung-made device with model number “SM-A9000” enter India on the 3rd and 4th of November “for testing” purposes. The SM-A9000 is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy A9. The listing also puts rumours that claim the device will feature a 5.5-inch screen to rest, as it lists the device having a bigger 6-inch screen.
The listing also reveals the value of the Galaxy A9. The units that entered India on the 3rd of November are valued at around £133. The units of the device that entered India on the 4th of November are valued at around £166. We’re guessing, however, that the Galaxy A9 will cost twice as much when launched.
Unfortunately, this is all the listing had to reveal about the SM-A9000. Fortunately, details about the device have been leaked in previous reports. According to past rumours, the Samsung Galaxy A9’s screen will have a resolution 1080 x 1920 (Full HD). Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 CPU, which is an octa-core processor with cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz and an Adreno 510 GPU to handle graphics. It is also said to come with 3 GB of RAM. Lastly, it is said to offer 32 GB of internal storage. Sadly, it is not expected to feature a microSD card slot. Other specs and the smartphone’s overall design are yet to be leaked.
Sadly, it is yet to be determined when Samsung plans to lift the lid on the Galaxy A9. However, since it has been spotted entering India for testing purposes, we’re guessing that the device will make its official debut soon.
