Nokia has just teased a new Lumia device on its official Facebook page, followed by the hashtag #MoreLumia and the catchphrase “Big on experiences.” The device will make its debut on the 11th of November.
We know it’s a Lumia device, but what does “Big on experiences” mean? Is it a phablet, or a tablet perhaps? Or is it the much-awaited follow-up to the Nokia Lumia 1020?
Why is it believed that this new Lumia will be the successor of the Lumia 1020? For one thing, there have been a number of Lumia handsets that have been released after the only Lumia smartphone in the market with a 41-megapixel rear-facing PureView camera, and successors of those handsets have already hit the market. The Lumia 1020 was launched in July of 2013.
Other than being the rumoured successor of the Lumia 1020, Microsoft has announced that it will drop the “Nokia” brand on Lumia handsets and replace it with “Microsoft.” The software giant is yet to announce when it plans to do this, but this upcoming device may be the first Lumia device to carry the Microsoft brand.
Of course, this is all speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt. Anyway, we won’t have to wait very long to find out, since the 11th of November is just around the corner.
