The Nokia Lumia 635, the first smartphone to run the latest Windows Phone 8.1 has just landed in the UK. Sadly, it is not as pocket-friendly as we thought.
The three top retailers in the UK are selling the Lumia 635. The first is Carphone Warehouse, who is selling the handset for £129.95 plus a £10 top-up on Pay As You Go. The second is Clove who is selling the SIM-free version for £149.99, while the third is Unlocked Mobiles who is asking £144.98 for the handset.
True, these are affordable prices, but those prices translate to an average of $220. In the US, the Lumia 635 will be sold for just $99.
Aside from running Windows Phone 8.1, the Lumia 635 sports a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480×854 pixels, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor by Qualcomm, and 512MB of RAM. If you’re expecting Cortana (Microsoft’s digital personal assistant) to be included, Cortana is yet to roll out in the UK.
