Microsoft releases short video on how to update to Lumia Denim

According to reports, Microsoft has already begun to roll out the Lumia Denim update to a number of Lumia devices in China. It looks like the software giant is gearing up for a more global release of the latest version of Windows Phone, as a it has released a video on how to update your Lumia device running Windows Phone 8.1 to Lumia Denim.


Microsoft announced the Lumia update at IFA 2015, which kicked off in September. This was also the event the Redmond firm announced the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830. The Lumia 830 runs Lumia Denim out of the box. Devices such as the Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520 will eventually get the update.

The Lumia Denim update improves Cortana, Microsoft’s digital personal assistant and rival to Apple’s Siri, by allowing users to activate her by simply saying “Hey, Cortana!” This can be done from any screen. Another addition is folders on the start screen. Furthermore, the update comes with a number of camera enhancements, significantly enhancing image capturing and video recording.

With the release of the video, Microsoft is obviously preparing for a more global rollout of the Lumia Denim update. It shows what to expect and what to do once the update is available.
