Design-wise, the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition looks exactly like the Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen, which was launched globally earlier this year. It has the same IP67 certification, meaning it is dust and water resistant. It also features the same 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, the same 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an an f/2.0 lens and an LED flash, the same 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle f/2.2 lens for snapping selfies and video chat.

So what’s the difference? The Moto G 3rd Gen features an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC. The Moto G Turbo Edition, on the other hand, features a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, which is an octa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, four A53 CPU cores clocked at 1 GHz, and an Adreno 405 GPU to handle graphics.

The Moto G Turbo Edition also has more to offer when internal storage and RAM is concerned. The Moto G 3rd Gen features 8 GB of internal storage and 1 GB of RAM. The Moto G Turbo Edition features 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and 2 GB of RAM.

To keep the lights on, the Moto G Turbo Edition features a 2,470 mAh battery, which is the same battery on board the Moto G 3rd Gen. The difference is, however, is that the Moto G Turbo Edition supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 tech thanks to the Snapdragon 615 SoC. This means that the smartphone allows users to enjoy more from fast-charging capabilities. Motorola also throws in a “TurboPower” charger which allows for up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.

The Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. We’re guessing the device will be updated to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in a few months.

Flipkart is asking the equivalent of £142 for the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition. It is available in two colour options – black and white. It is yet to be determined if the device will be available in the UK.
