According to Jose Arturo, a Verizon device test engineer, the next high-end Motorola smartphone will come with a microSD card slot and “front facing flash for selfies.”
Motorola is yet to lift the lid on a high-end smartphone this year. Arturo said on Google+ that the Lenovo-owned smartphone maker’s next high-end smartphones will sport a microSD card slot and flash for the front-facing camera. That post has now been removed, with Arturo saying, “Sorry followers… I got in trouble for Turbo announcement… Need to be discrete from now on and just stick to lab testing and not public affairs via posts and comment exchanges… Enjoy Verizon services and our great devices.” Since he got into trouble for the post, we’re guessing there is truth to this rumour.
So what are the high-end smartphones to come with these features? The Moto G and Moto E already come with microSD cards, so you can scratch their successors off the list. The Moto X 2nd Gen and the Google Nexus 6, on the other hands, do not come with microSD cards. So we’re guessing the Moto X 3rd Gen will sport a microSD card slot.
Now about the front-facing flash, we’re sure smartphone users who love taking selfies will love this feature.
Past rumours claim that the Moto X 3rd Gen will sport a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 32 GB to 64 GB of internal storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3,280 mAh battery.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
