Motorola started rolling out Android 5.0 (Lollipop) to the Moto G and Moto G 2nd Gen back in November, but pulled the update soon after. Only a few Moto G owners got the update. Now, it seems the update is being rolled out once again, as the handsets’ owners are reporting to have received the latest version of Android, according to DroidLife. Yup. That’s right. Both predecessor and successor are now getting the latest version of Google’s highly-popular operating system.
According to an owner of the Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen, the exact version of Lollipop that rolled out to his (or her) smartphone is Android 5.0.1, and came as software version 22.21.25. The build number is LXB22.46-25. According to an owner of the original Moto G, the software version is 220.21.25, and the build number is LXB22.46-25.
Although Moto G owners around the world are reporting that the Lollipop update is now available for their smartphones, the update isn’t rolling out to all users all at the same time. To check if the update is now available for your device go to Settings >About phone >System updates > Check for updates.
