Recently, alleged press renders of the unannounced Huawei Mate 8 were leaked. Now, the device’s promotional posters have been leaked, indicated that the Mate 8’s official debut is just around the corner.
The photos showing the Huawei Mate 8’s alleged promotional posters were leaked on Chinese social media and first spotted by GizmoChina, the same site that passed along the alleged press renders of the said device. Although the photos of the posters are rather blurry, we can tell that the renders that were previously leaked look exactly like the device shown in the posters.
Like what we noticed before, the Huawei Mate 8 looks a lot like its predecessor the Huawei Mate 7. It still keeps its metal construction, giving it a more premium look and feel. Although it keeps its predecessor’s design language, we can see a few changes here and there. One is a round fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, similar to the fingerprint scanner found on the back of the Nexus 6P. The new Nexus phablet is also made by Huawei. Additionally, the rear-facing camera lens is now round, unlike the squarish lens found on the Mate 7.
As for the Mate 8’s specs, the device is expected to sport a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). Its camera combo is said to consist of either a 16-megapixel or a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera to care of snapping selfies and video chat. Under the hood is a Huawei-made Kirin 950, which is an octa-core processor with an ARM Mali-T880 GPU. As for RAM, there are two versions of the device – one is said to feature 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal storage, while the other is said to feature 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. It is also expected to feature a massive battery with fast charging capabilities.
It seems that the Huawei Mate 8’s unveiling will be happening soon, which means we’ll soon know everything there is to know about the device.
