Google will soon lift the lid on the Nexus 6P, but it looks like leaked slides have beat the search giant to the punch, revealing more details about the next Nexus phablet made by Huawei.
Nexus 6P leaked slides
Not only do the slides reveal that the phablet will be called the Nexus 6P, they also reveal the device’s specs. The slides reveal the the phablet will sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood will be the controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with an Adreno 430 GPU to handle graphics. We’re hoping the CPU does not cause overheating issues, like it did with the Sony XPERIA Z3 Plus. To keep the lights on, the device will feature a 3,450 mAh battery. It comes with dual front-facing speakers and a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the device.
The slides also show the Huawei Nexus 6P running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which means Google Now will be pre-installed. This allows users to get information relevant to the time, depending on what’s on the screen and when Google Now is activated. For example, if a movie trailer is on the screen, all users have to do is tap the screen and hold, and Google Now will present cards with information about the movie. Android 6.0 also offers a native fingerprint scanner that allows users to choose which permissions to allow when installing an app, and offers an improved stand-by system that will prolong battery life.
The slides also reveal that the phablet comes with a low f-stop (aperture) for the rear-camera. This allows for “better images under low-light conditions.” A faster Google Camera app allows you to quickly focus on your subject.
As for colour options the Nexus 6P will be available in Aluminium, Graphite, Frost, and Gold (only available in Japan).
The slides reveal that the Nexus 6P will be available in three storage options, including 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB versions.
One slide reveals that the device will be pre-loaded with “The Best of Google Apps.”
A USB-Type C port is on board, which means you will never have to worry about plugging the connector in the wrong way.
The device weighs in at 178 g.
