According to Chinese media, the Huawei P8, follow-up of the Ascend P7, will sport Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection both on the screen and the rear panel.
The news comes to us courtesy of Chinese-speaking MyDrivers. According to the site’s sources, to add to a more premium feel, the Huawei P8 will have Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both the screen and the back panel. As for the frame underneath the glass, the P8 is said to sport a chassis made out of zirconia ceramics. Like its predecessor, the smartphone is said to be extremely slim measuring at just 6 mm.
According to previous reports, the Huawei P8 will sport a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a dual 13-megapixel front-facing camera setup, Huawei’s Kirin 930 octa-core processor made under its 16 nm HiFET process, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It is said to cost ¥2,999 in China, which converts to to around £313. It is expected to make its debut in the UK in April.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
