Gold “Special Edition” Huawei Nexus 6P released in India

In the UK, the Huawei Nexus 6P is available in two colour options – black and silver. In other markets such as the US, a white colour option is available. There is a fourth colour option, gold, which is currently only available in Japan, until now. The gold, “Special Edition” variant is now available in India.

The news comes to us courtesy of PhoneRadar. The “Gold Coloured,” “Special Edition” of the Huawei Nexus 6P is now available in India for the equivalent of £445. It is available in a 64 GB version, and is around £10 more expensive than the non-gold, 64 GB variant of the Nexus 6P. The “Gold Coloured,” “Special Edition” of the Huawei Nexus 6P will not be available via the Google Store in India. It will be a Flipkart-exclusive, an online retailer in the country. It is yet to be determined if the “Gold Coloured,” “Special Edition” of the Huawei Nexus 6P will be available in the UK.

Huawei India president, Allen Wang, said, “The Huawei Nexus 6P has been well received by the Indian audience and keeping in mind the niche target group, we have introduced the Gold color Special Edition of the smartphone. At Huawei, we use the cutting-edge manufacturing technique combined with latest and innovative software technology to provide the best-in-class product.”

To recap, the Huawei Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch AMOLED  screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which works out to a pixel density of 518 ppi. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, which is a 64-bit 2 GHz octa-core processor with an Adreno 430 GPu to handle graphics, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It features a microSD card slot (as much as 128 GB), just in case you run out of internal storage. Its camera combo consists of a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for napping selfies and video chat. A fingerprint scanner is also on board. To keep the lights on, it features a 3,450 mAh battery. It runs an unadulterated version of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box.
