Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about the rumoured Huawei-made Nexus 6 (2015) phablet. Now, the unannounced device has been spotted in the GFXBench benchmark database, revealing the phablet’s specs.
The listing on GFXBench doesn’t mention the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015). Instead, it is listed as the “Huawei Angler,” which is believed to be the codename of the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015).
According to the benchmark result, the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will sport a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which confirms what previous reports are claiming. Thanks to previous reports, we know that the device will measure 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6 / 8.5 mm. This means that the device will be anything but slim, but not bulky either.
Under the hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz, four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 430 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. This is also what past reports were claiming.
GFXBench lists that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will come wnith 24 GB of available internal storage, which is an indication that the device will offer 32 GB of on board storage. It wasn’t mentioned whether the device will support microSD cards. We’re hoping it does, but, since last year’s Motorola Nexus 6 didn’t, we’re not keeping our hopes up.
In the photography department, the listing reveals that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will sport a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera.
The test result reveals that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will sport a barometer. This means that the device can take advantage of apps or features that measure atmospheric pressure.
Lastly, the listing reveals that the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) will run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box, which isn’t surprising since the latest version of Android always make their debut on new Nexus devices.
Other rumoured specs not included in the listing is a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the device.
The Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) is expected to make its official debut on the 29th of September at Google’s press event. Apart from the Nexus phablet, the LG-made Nexus 5X smartphone is also expected to be officially announced at the event. We may also see the rumoured Nexus 8 tablet, but it is yet to be determined which manufacturer was behind the device.
The new Nexus device are said to be available via the Google Play Store on the 13th of October.
