Want to know what the unannounced Huawei P9 will look like? If a leaked schematic is to be believed, you may get a closer look at the yet to be unveiled flagship.
Huawei P9 schematic?
The diagram above was leaked by Chinese-speaking CNMO. If genuine, the Huawei P9 will feature a noticeably thin profile, rounded corners, a physical home button, and a dual rear camera setup.
If this schematic shows the real deal, it mirrors what we’ve been hearing in the past. According to past reports, Huawei will completely redesign the P9. Past Huawei flagships such as the Huawei P8 did not feature a physical home button. The P9 shows in this drawing features a physical home button.
So why did Huawei decide to outfit the P9 with a physical home button? It’s possible that the home button could double as a fingerprint scanner. Of course, there’s also a possibility that the fingerprint scanner could be mounted in the back of the device just like the Mate 8, Mate S, G8, and other Huawei device with the said feature.
Of course, since we can’t verify if the schematic shows the real deal or not, take it with a pinch of salt.
So far, we’ve learned from past rumours that the Huawei P9 will feature a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (Full HD). Under the hood is expected to be Huawei’s Kirin 950 SoC, which is a powerful octa-core processor that has allegedly done well in benchmark tests, coupled with 4 GB of RAM (there were reports that claimed that the P9 would rock 6 GB of RAM, but we doubt this is true). Its dual rear-facing camera is said to be a 12-megapixel sensor. Keeping the lights on is said to be a 3,000 mAh battery.
Past reports claimed that the Huawei P9 would make its official debut at CES 2016, which kicked off in January in Las Vegas earlier this month. Since the device never made an appearance at the trade show, we’re hoping it does go official at Mobile World Congress 2016, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain on the 22nd of February. It is expected to be released sometime in March.
