It looks like China will be getting the HTC One E9 soon, as the yet to be announced smartphone has been heavily leaked on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. Two weeks ago, the device made an appearance at TENAA, China’s equivalent of the US FCC.
Chinese media claim that the HTC One E9 will sport a 5-inch screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor under the hood. Although the device in the photos is encased in a protective case, which is likely there to mask the smartphone’s overall design, it shows Android 5.0 (Lollipop) running with HTC’s Sense 7.0 UI slapped on top. Other specs include front-facing BoomSound speakers, a rather massive circular rear-facing camera (yet to be determined pixel count), and a power button found on the side with a volume rocker under it (just like that on the HTC One M9).
The HTC One E9 is expected to set interested parties back around £323.
We are likely to know more about the device on the 8th of April in Beijing, China – HTC’s upcoming press event. The HTC One M9+ is expected to be the star of the event.
Unfortunately, it seems the HTC One E9 will be a Chinese exclusive or at least an Asian exclusive.
