HTC starts to roll out Lollipop update to Desire Eye

It looks like HTC is now starting to roll out the Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) update to the HTC Desire Eye, the Taiwanese phone maker’s ultimate selfie-centric smartphone, as owners in Taiwan have begun to receive the update.

The news comes to us courtesy of @LlabTooFer, a known HTC ROM developer. He says on Twitter, “HTC Desire EYE (Taiwan) receives Android 5.0.2. ROM version is 2.19.709.1 (1008.9MB).”

Since the update is 1008.9 MB, a rather large file, make sure you have enough battery life and that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network to avoid incurring heavy data charges.

Specs include a Corning Gorilla Glass 3-protected 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (pixel density of 424 ppi), a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, a 13-megapixel front-facing selfie-centric camera with dual-LED flash, 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with each core clocked at 2.3 GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB  of RAM, and a 2,400 mAh battery.
