HTC exec says 2015 roadmap will be their ‘best ever’

HTC promises that its 2015 roadmap will be their “best ever.” This is what Jeff Gordon, HTC’s Senior Global Online Communications Manager, said on his Twitter account (1 & 2). First the exec said, “I’m overwhelmingly excited for #TeamHTC in 2015! I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!” Then he says, “HTC’s 2015 roadmap will be our best ever–with some huge surprises that will blow you away. ;)”

Here are the tweets:

Although Gordon didn’t reveal what HTC has in store for us this 2015, we know that the rumoured HTC Hima (HTC One (M9)) will be among these devices. The Taiwanese firm’s next flagship is said to sport 5-inch 1080p screen, a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and 3 GB of RAM. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Sense 7 slapped on top. HTC is also said to be cooking up a larger version of the Hima called the Hima Ultra. This variant is said to sport a 5.5-inch screen. It is yet to be determined if it will be a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) screen.

HTC is also expected to lift the lid on new mid-range smartphones that will be joining it Desire series. The new mobiles are expected to make their debut at CES 2015, which kicks off this month. The Hima is rumoured to be officially unveiled at its own event, so its unlikely that we’ll see it at CES.
