In an earlier report, we told you that HTC was rumoured to be planning to launch a follow-up to the HTC Butterfly 2 (shown below). Now a tweet is saying that the device will be launched in the 2nd half of 2015. The same tweet says that a new tablet made by the Taiwanese phone maker is coming either on the second or the thrid quarter of this year.
The tweet comes from Twitter account @upleaks, the new leak master, dubbed by former leak master @evleaks and the same Twitter account responsible for revealing the possible existence of the Butterfly 3. In a new tweet, he (or she) said, “Tablet: Q2~Q3 BUTTERFLY3(aka B3, both are codename, I don’t know the marketing name:P): 2nd half of the year.”
To recap, the HTC Butterfly 3 is said to sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) screen, which means it will be slightly larger compared to its predecessor. The Butterfly 2 is water resistant, which means the Butterfly 3 may be water resistant as well.
As for the tablet, unfortunately, not much is known about the device as of the moment. All we know is that it will sport an 8.9-inch screen and will be based on the Google Nexus 9.
Of course, since HTC is yet to officially announce the HTC Butterfly 3 or their rumoured upcoming tablet, take this with a pinch of salt.
