According to rumours, due to the dismal sales of HTC One M9, HTC is planning to release a new “hero” smartphone. Now, according to Even Blass (aka @evleaks), the leak master that has come out of retirement, hinted that the device will be called “HTC Aero,” and that the device will be launched in Q4 2015 (October to December).
We’re assuming that Aero is just a code name, which HTC CEO Cher Wang was talking about when she apologised for the record-low stock performance of HTC this 2015. At HTC’s quarterly results press conference, she said that HTC is preparing a hero phone, aside from the One M9 and One M9+, and that it will be arriving in October, which is in line with the Q4 timeframe hinted by Blass. Additionally, fellow leak artist @upleaks backs up Blass, saying that the Aero is “really awesome.”
Word on the street is, the HTC Aero (or whatever HTC ends up calling its next hero phone) will sport a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) screen and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 CPU, which will be available at that time.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
