2014 HTC smartphones to get Sense 7 in May-July 2015?

HTC is expected to roll out the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update to the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) sometime in early January. This, however, doesn’t mean that the Lollipop update will come with the next version of its Sense UI. According to a few tweets, Sense 7 may not be ready until May to July of next year. Additionally, the tweet suggests that only HTC smartphones released in 2014 will get it.

The tweets come from ROM developer LlabTooFeR, the same Twitter account that showed us what Lollipop will look like with Sense 6 slapped on top on the HTC One (M8). He says that the Sense 7 UI will be pre-installed on the HTC Hima (the next HTC flagship), which is coming in March. After the release of the Hima, Sense 7 should be available for HTC’s 2014 lineup, including the HTC One (M8), in between May to July. Of course, this doesn’t include the entry-level devices.

As for HTC’s 2013 lineup, including the HTC One (M7), it is still unclear whether Sense 7 will be available for the handsets or not. LlabTooFeR believes that it won’t. We’ll just have to wait and see.
