According to a well-known analyst who has a reputation for predicting accurate information on Apple’s next products, KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, iPads scheduled for release this 2014 will sport Touch ID fingerprint sensors and the A8 chip.
The news comes to us courtesy of Apple Insider, which has “obtained” the analyst’s research note. Kuo’s sources add that the iPad Air 2 will be launched a bit earlier this 2014, likely in late Q3 or early Q4. Aside from the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and A8 chip, the tablet is also said to sport an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Kuo also explains why the iPad with Retina Display did not sell well, when Apple opted to make the device thicker to accommodate the Retina Display. He said, “This change proved unpopular among consumers. We think iPad mini with Retina display made the same mistake, explaining why it’s not selling as well as the previous generation of iPad mini.”
Kuo says that the next iPad Mini with Retina Display will be thinner than its predecessor.
Kuo also spoke about the rumoured 12.9-inch iPad. He said, “With the 12.9” iPad, we think Apple will come up with a new user interface that’s more innovative and intuitive, so that input will be as efficient as a device with keyboard.”
