Apple will be lifting the lid on its new iPhones a little bit over a week from now and is said to launch the two towards the end of September. We’ve learned a lot about the unannounced iPhones, thanks to past leaks, and now, if a new leak is to be believed, we know how much the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will cost when available.
Dutch-speaking Techtastic is responsible for leaking the prices of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus in Europe. According to the site, Apple will release the new iPhones in the Netherlands (possibly all over Europe as well) on the 25th of September. Customers in the US, Germany, and France will reportedly get their hands on the two new iPhones on the 18th of September.
Now let’s get to the iPhones’ pricing in the Netherlands:
iPhone 6S (Space Grey) 16GB/64GB/128GB (€699/€799/€899)
iPhone 6S (Silver) 16GB/64GB/128GB(€699/€799/€899)
iPhone 6S (Gold) 16/64GB/128GB(€699/€799/€899)
iPhone 6S Plus:
iPhone 6S Plus (Space Grey) 16GB/64GB/128GB (€799/€899/€999)
iPhone 6S Plus (Silver) 16GB/64GB/128GB (€799/€899/€999)
iPhone 6S Plus (Gold) 16/64GB/128GB (€799/€899/€999)
To save you the trouble of converting from Euro to Pound, we’ve already done it for you. The 16 GB version of the iPhone 6S will set you back £511.09. The 64 GB version will cost you £584.21, while the 128 GB version will set you back £657.33. This applies to any colour option.
The 16 GB version of iPhone 6S Plus will set you back £584.21. The 64 GB version will cost you £657.33, while the 128 GB version will set you back £730.44. This applies to any colour option.
Of course, pricing may be different in the UK, but it’s not likely to be that much different.
The leaked pricing also reconfirms that Apple isn’t planning to change the new iPhones’ storage options anytime soon. This means the Apple iPhone 6S and the Apple iPhone 6S Plus will still be available in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage options. Past reports suggested that the 16 GB base option will be replaced with a 32 GB option.
To recap, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S are expected to look exactly the same as their predecessors, but be slightly thicker. Although they will look exactly the same as last year’s iPhones, they will offer more powerful hardware. These include Force Touch, a feature that can tell the difference between a soft tap and a hard tap. It first made its debut on the Apple Watch. Another is a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with support for 4K video recording, which is huge improvement from the current iPhones’ 8-megapixel camera. The new iPhones are also said to sport an improved front-facing camera with the display working as its front-facing flash. Recent reports revealed that the two will offer new animated wallpapers. Under the hood is said to be a triple-core A9 chip coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Lastly, the two are said to come with a new cellular modem made by Qualcomm.
Apple is expected to lift the lid on its new iPhones on the 9th of September.
