Still interested in a new iPad Mini? If so, we’re happy to tell you that the Apple iPad Mini 4 has just made its official debut.
Apple iPad Mini 4 makes its official debut
The Apple iPad Mini 4 is much thinner than its predecessor the Apple iPad Mini 3. It is a mere 6.1 mm-slim, which is significantly thinner than the 7.5 mm-thick iPad Mini 3. Not only is the iPad Mini 4 slimmer, it is also lighter. It weighs in at 0.65 lbs, which is lighter than the iPad Mini 3 that weighs in at 0.73 lbs.
The iPad Mini 4’s screen measures 7.9 inches and has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This works out to a pixel density of 324 ppi. The new tablet has been treated to a zero-gap screen, which means the sensor, LCD, and display have been merged into one and is covered by glass. The result is a better-looking tablet, improved picture quality, and better touchscreen response.
A8 chip under the hood
Compared to the Apple iPad Mini 3, the iPad Mini 4 is as much as 30% faster when it comes to processing power and as much as 60% faster when it comes to GPU performance, thanks to the the A8 chip (the same processor under the hood of the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus). This means no more dropped frames, which plagued the iPad Mini 3 when running games that put too much stress on the processor and GPU.
The Apple iPad Mini 4 comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (the same camera on board the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus) that snaps photos in 3264 x 2448 resolution. It can also record videos in 1080p (Full HD). With the A8 chip on board, you’ll enjoy more from improved face detection and better noise reduction. However, don’t expect to snap the perfect selfie using the smaller iPad, since it only comes with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
If you’re worried the Apple iPad Mini 4 will not last long, don’t be. Apple claims that the tablet will last 10 hours of on screen use, which is good enough.
