According to a new rumour, the unannounced Apple iPad Pro (also known as the Apple iPad Plus) will sport an NFC chip, Force Touch, and A9 chip.
The new rumour comes from AppleInsider. According to its anonymous source, the tablet will indeed sport a 12.9-inch screen, which will support Apple’s Force Touch tech. Force Touch measures how hard a user is pressing the screen, which is one of the features of the Apple Watch. Additionally, the tablet is said to sport a USB Type-C port, which allows users to plug in USB cables either side up. This has been revealed by leaked cases, which also reveal a second port, probably for the Lightning connector, on the bottom. Lastly, the source said that the tablet would come with to include an NFC radio for Apple Pay.
As for the processor, the source said that the iPad Pro will rock the new A9 chip. Currently, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus sport the A8 chip, while the iPad Air 2 sports the A8X chip under the hood.
It is yet to be determined when Apple is planning to lift the lid on the iPad Pro, but there are reports that suggest the tablet will make its debut at WWDC 2015 in June.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of slat.
