Apple has officially unveiled the iPad Mini 3. Now that the tablet has just made it debut, you may wondering what the difference is between the new iPad Mini and its predecessor.
One of the differences between the two is the colour options available. The new iPad Mini will be available in a gold colour option that was once only available with the iPhone.
One feature that is now available with the iPad Mini 3 that was not available with the iPad Mini 2 is the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Touch ID was once only available with the iPhone. This means that the new smaller iPad can make use of the Cupertino firm’s new mobile payment service Apple Pay.
Other than these, everything else is the same. One example is the A7 chip. The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come with the A8 chip under the hood, while the newly unveiled iPad Air 2 comes with the A8X chip. The A8X is 40% more powerful that the A8. Although the iPad Mini 3 doesn’t sport the A8X chip, the A7 is still a pretty capable processor.
