Previous reports claim that Apple is planning to release a 4-inch iPhone called the iPhone 6C this year. We’ve also come across alleged leaked casings for the device. According to an analyst, however, the Cupertino firm has no plans of launching a 4-inch iPhone this year.
The analyst in question is KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, who is renowned for predicting accurate information on yet to be announced Apple devices. MacRumors obtained his note to investors, and reports, “Kuo claims that Apple is still targeting 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models for its next-generation iPhones, akin to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and notes that a 4-inch model is unlikely to be released this year.”
As for the next iPhones, many believe that Apple will launch its next iPhones as the “iPhone 6S” and the “iPhone 6S Plus.” This means that the next iPhones will sport minor changes. Kuo, however, believes otherwise. Kuo predicts that the addition of the rumoured “Force Touch” tech, which detects the amount of pressure users apply when using the iPhones’ touch feature, will be significant enough for Apple to call its next iPhone the “iPhone 7.”
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
