5.5-inch iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 reportedly to go into production in September – suggests it will not be unveiled at the same time as the 4.7-inch iPhone 6

According to Chinese-speaking UDN‘s sources in Apple’s supply chain, production of the iPad Air 2, the next iPad Mini, and the rumoured 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will begin in September.

So what does this mean? This suggests that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be unveiled in a separate event and not alongside the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. Rumour has it that Apple will lift the lid on the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 on the 19th of September.

This also means that since Apple’s phablet, tablet, and mini tablet will start production in September, they may be unveiled in October. Last year, the Cupertino firm unveiled the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display in October. This year, we may see the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 unveiled alongside the iPad Air 2 and next iPad Mini.
