Prefer a 4-inch iPhone, but don’t like the fact that the Apple iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are more than two years old? If so, we have potentially good news for you. According to a new report, the rumoured 4-inch iPhone will be available in Q1 2016 (between the months of January, February, and March).
iPhone 6C coming
The new rumour comes to us courtesy of Japanese blog Mac Otakara, a site that has a reputation of leaking accurate information when it comes to anything Apple-related. According to the site’s sources, Apple’s rumoured 4-inch iPhone has already entered into mass production. The report adds that, aside from the new iPhone’s 4-inch screen, it will feature Apple’s A8 chip, the same CPU that can be found under the hood of the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Other rumoured specs include an improved front-facing FaceTimeHD camera, Bluetooth 4.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. In other words, it should be an upgraded version of the iPhone 5S. It is still unclear, however, if the new 4-inch iPhone will be clad in metal or plastic.
As for the 4-inch iPhone’s release date, Mac Otakara’s sources claim that the device will be available in the first half of 2016, which conflicts with previous reports claiming the device will be available in the second half of 2016. We’re not sure which report is accurate.
It is also yet to be determined what Apple, if it is cooking up a 4-inch iPhone, is planning to call the device. We’re guessing Apple will call it the iPhone 6C (concept by Martin Hajek shown above), but this is all just speculation at this point.
