Apple has lifted the lid on the massive 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro, but is yet to announce when the device will be available in stores. All it says is the the tablet will be launched sometime in November, but doesn’t say when exactly. According to a new report, the tablet will be released to the public next week.
November 11 release?
The news comes to us courtesy of 9to5Mac. According to the site, iPad Pro training for Apple Store reps ends on the 6th of November, and says that the tablet will go on sale on the 11th of the same month. We’ve learned that the super-sized iPad will set buyers back at least £520.
The same report also says that two of the tablet’s main accessories will also go on sale on the same date. These include the Apple Pencil, which is a rechargeable stylus specifically made for the tablet and will cost around £64, and the Smart Keyboard, which is essentially a keyboard for the device that will cost around £110. The keyboard also doubles as a stand for the iPad Pro.
To recap, the Apple iPad Pro rocks a 12.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels. Under the hood of the Apple iPad Pro is the new A9X chip. The large iPad also comes with four stereo speakers that offer 3X the volume of the iPad Air 2. Its camera combo consists of an 8-megapixel iSight camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. A 38.5-watt-hour battery is on board that offers 10 hours of battery life. It is 6.9 mm-thick (iPad Air 2 is 6.1 mm-thick) and weighs in at 1.57 lb.
The iPad Pro is optimised for Microsoft’s Office suite. Office suite includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
As for pricing, Apple UK is yet to announce how much the Apple iPad Pro will set buyers back, but based on Apple US listing, the 32 GB iPad Pro with Wi-Fi will cost $799 (around £517), the 128 GB iPad Pro with Wi-Fi will cost $949 (around £614), the 128 GB iPad Pro with Wi-Fi, and the 4G LTE version will set buyers back $1079 (around £699).
