Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about the rumoured 12-inch iPad Pro. If a leaked image is to believed, the larger iPad will not be called the iPad Pro but the iPad Plus instead, which makes more sense since it does follow Apple’s current naming scheme (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). Moreover, the device is said to be a mere 7 mm thin.
The image you see above was leaked on Chinese-speaking micro-blogging site Weibo, which was then spotted by GizmoChina. According to the post, the larger iPad will sport a 12.9-inch 2K screen and will be extremely slim, 7 mm to be specific. Despite its sheer size, the iPad Plus will only weigh less than 700 grams. As for the battery, Apple is said to be working on increasing its capacity to 11,000 mAh, a 150% increase compared to the iPad Air 2. The tablet is said to be compatible with third party keyboard cases.
The source also said that Apple was planning to discontinue the iPad Mini 3 when it launches the iPad Mini 4. Apple is said to continue selling the iPad Mini 2.
Speaking about the iPhone, the source said that Apple is planning to launch not two screen sizes but three screen sizes. It is said to be planning to launch the successor of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus (presumably the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus) and a smaller 4-inch iPhone, which lines up with previous reports.
Of course, since this is anything but official, take this with a pinch of salt.
