Motorola recently lifted the lid on the new Droid Turbo 2, which is currently only available in the US via network operator Verizon. So does this mean that the new high-end smartphone will not be landing in the UK? Well, a new official Motorola Droid Turbo 2 video has revealed that the device will be available in Europe, and will be re-branded as the “Moto X Force.”
Motorola Moto X Force coming to Europe
Here’s the video:
The video was direct to the point when it said that the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be re-branded as the Motorola Moto X Force and will be “coming to Latin America, EMEA and APAC starting in November.”
To recap, the Motorola Moto X Force sports a flat front and arched back held together by an aluminium chassis. It measures 149.8 x 78 x 9.2 mm and weighs in at 169 g. It isn’t fully water-resistant. It is protected by a liquid-repelling nano coating, which protects the device from simple splashes. However, it will not survive being dunked in water. It rocks a 5.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), which works out to a pixel density of 540 ppi. The screen is protected by Motorola’s five-layer ShatterShield technology, which guarantees the screen will not shatter within four years of use. Additionally, the scratsh-resistant AMOLED screen found on top of the aluminium chassis is of the flexible type that bends upon impact instead of cracking. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, with cores clocked as much as 2 GHz, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Storage options include 32 GB and 64 GB versions. It also comes with a microSD card slot. In the photography department, a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera (Sony IMX230 sensor) with a dual-tone LED flash and F/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for snapping selfies and video chat are on board. It features a 3,760 mAh battery that charges fast with Motorola’s TurboPower charger. It runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box, with the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update to roll out to the device in the near future.
The Motorola Moto X Force’s European pricing and release date is yet to be determined.
