Before the software giant lifted the lid on the Microsoft Lumia 950, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, and the Microsoft Lumia 550, rumours claimed that Microsoft was working on the Lumia 750 and the Lumia 850. However, since the Lumia 750 and the Lumia 850 did not make an appearance alongside the Lumia 950, the Lumia 950 XL, and the Lumia 550, many believed that the 750 and 850 were discontinued. According to a new report, we may see the Lumia 850 see the light of day.
Leaked Microsoft Lumia 850 render
The leaked renders (see above) come to us courtesy of French-speaking NWE, the site behind leakster Twitter account @OnLeaks. According to the leak, the renders are based on industrial blueprints sent by a trusted source.
Aside from showing us the renders, NWE also has more information on the yet to be announced Lumia 850. According the report, the device will be constructed out of metal. It adds that the device will measure 155.9 x 77.23 x 6.92 mm. If true, the Lumia 850 will be the thinnest Lumia to date. It will be slightly larger than the Lumia 950 XL, which features a 5.7-inch screen and measures 151.9 x 78.4 x 8.1 mm. These measurements also dispel previous rumours that claim the Lumia 850 will sport a 5-inch screen.
Of course, there’s no way for us to verify if the renders show the real deal, which simply means you should take these renders with a pinch of salt. If the renders show the real deal, however, we could see Microsoft lift the lid on the Lumia 850 soon.
When the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were officially unveiled, Lumia fans were disappointed to find out that Microsoft’s current high-end offerings were clad in plastic and not metal. If you are looking for a metal-clad Lumia and if this new rumour is accurate, you may want to stay tuned for further announcements from the Redmond firm.
