Recently, we passed along a rumour that claimed that the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be officially announced soon on the 1st of February. Now a new rumour claims to know when the device will be launched in Europe as well as its price.
Microsoft Lumia 650 pricing and release date
According to a new report from German-speaking Winfuture, the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be available to buy shortly after its unveiling on the 1st of February, in Germany at least. As for pricing, the SIM free version of the device will be available from O2 Germany for €219 (around £165).
So far, we’ve learned that the Microsoft Lumia 650 is expected to feature a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD). Under the hood is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC ( a quad-core processor), coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It is said to feature 8 GB of internal storage. Like the Microsoft Lumia 950, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, and the Microsoft Lumia 550, the Lumia 650 is expected to run Windows 10 out of the box. As you can see, these specs are hardly the hardware and features of a high-end device, but it is said to feature a metal frame that gives the device a more premium look and feel. According to previous reports, the Lumia 650 will be marketed as an affordable business phone.
Recent reports also claim that the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be the only Windows 10-powered Lumia smartphone to be unveiled this year, as the Lumia 750 and the Lumia 850 have reportedly been cancelled. This, however, doesn’t mean that the Lumia 650 will be the last smartphone Microsoft lifts the lid on. Rumour has it that the software giant is gearing up to introduce the “Surface Phone.”
Of course, since this is anything but official, take it with a pinch of salt.
