New slides confirm Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL specs

Smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system tend to fall short on specs, compared to what the competition has to offer. According to reports, this will not be the case with the Redmond firm’s new high-end devices, the unannounced Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. This has been allegedly confirmed by screenshots of the 950 XL, which have been leaked online a few days back. Now, new leaked slides tell the same story.

So what do these slides reveal? First of all, they re-confirm that the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL will be clad in polycarbonate (plastic) and not metal. Although plastic has long been synonymous to cheap and low-end, past Lumia high-end devices proved to be sturdy and not at all feel tacky. We’re expecting the same look and feel with the two upcoming devices.

Specs-wise the slides reveal the Lumia 950 will sport a 5.2-inch WQHD OLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Under the hood will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. For your storage needs, the device will offer 32 GB of internal storage. An iris scanner will be on board for Windows Hello. Its camera combo consists of a 20-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. To keep the lights, past reports have revealed that the device will come with a 3,000 mAh removable battery. It will support Qi wireless charging.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 950 XL will sport a 5.7-inch WQHD OLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). Under the hood will be the controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. For your storage needs, the device will offer 32 GB of internal storage.
