We’ve been coming across a few reports that have leaked the rumoured Microsoft Lumia 650. The question is, when will the device make its official debut. According to a new report, that day will come soon. Read on to find out more.
Microsoft Lumia 650 to be announced next month?
The new rumour comes to us courtesy of Windows Central. According to the report, the software giant is planning to lift the lid on the Microsoft Lumia 650 on the 1st of February.
Sadly, if the report is to be believed, the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be the only Lumia device to be unveiled this 2016. The report adds that Microsoft allegedly cancelled the Microsoft Lumia 750 and the Microsoft Lumia 850. This, however, doesn’t mean that the Redmond firm is done announcing smartphones for this year. Microsoft is reportedly planning to announce a Surface Phone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC under the hood sometime in the fall.
We’ve learned from previous reports that Microsoft is planning to market the Lumia 650 as an affordable business smartphone. Pricing, however, is yet to be determined. As for its design, although it is said to be an affordable business device, it is said to feature a metal frame, giving the device a more premium look and feel. Specs-wise, the Lumia 650 is said to feature a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD). Under the hood is expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core processor), coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It is said to feature 8 GB of on board storage. if this isn’t enough, the device is said to come with a microSD card slot. Like the Microsoft Lumia 950, Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, and Microsoft Lumia 550, the Lumia 650 will run Windows 10 out of the box. If the device is officially unveiled on the 1st of February, it will be Microsoft’s fourth device to run Windows 10.
