We’ve been coming across a number of leaks involving the upcoming Microsoft Lumia 950 and its bigger version the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. We’ve seen the leaked photos, leaked press renders, and leaked specs. Speaking of specs, a new leaked photo has revealed more about the Lumia 950 XL’s battery.
3,340 mAh removable battery
The image you see above was leaked on Twitter by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@stagueve), which is the man behind French-speaking NWE, a site known for leaking accurate information on yet to be announced devices. The photo, if genuine, shows the back of the Lumia 950 XL with the cover removed, which allows us to view the device’s removable battery. The battery shown in the photo has a capacity of 3,340 mAh. Aside from revealing that the device will sport a 3,340 mA instead of a 3,300 mAh one, this is the first time we’ve learned that it will be the removable type.
Other features shown by the photo is the device’s SIM card slot and its microSD card slot.
Other rumoured specs include a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). It is said to rock a 20-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera with triple LED flash and ZEISS optics and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. Under the hood is said to be the controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. We’re hoping Microsoft resolves the said CPU’s overheating issues. It is also said to offer 32 GB of internal storage. Like previous Lumia devices, the Lumia 950 XL is expected to support Qi wireless charging. It will run Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.
The Lumia 950 XL is to be joined by the smaller Lumia 950 smartphone. It is rumoured to sport a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD). 32 GB of internal storage will be on board. It also comes with a microSD card slot for additional storage options. Its main camera will be a 20-megapixel rear-facing shooter with ZEISS optics. It will run Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.
Other rumoured Lumia 950 specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor under the hood, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It is also expected, like other high-end Lumia devices before it, to support Qi wireless charging. To keep the lights on, the phablet is expected to come with a 3,000 mAh battery (possibly the removable type as well).
