Having a hard time deciding between the LG G4 or the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge? If so, PhoneArena has come up with 5 reasons why you should get your hands on the LG G4 instead of the Kroean tech giant’s new flagships.
Here they are:
1. If you want to escape the cliché premium materials
Definitely something that sets the G4 apart from the 2015 smartphones so far – the leather back variant. While other “premium” handsets aim for the metal and glass feel, LG decided to use another material that oozes class – leather. This model will set you back $100, but you get a premium stylish accessory, which is probably reason enough to buy it, if you are one who can’t leave the house unless their belt matches their shoes.
2. A futuristic shape, but none of that “edgy screen”
Being tempted by the unorthodox and futuristic shapes toted by the likes of Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 edge, and LG G Flex 2, but find them a bit too extreme? Well, the G4 has a similar curve to the one of its G Flex 2 cousin, but its much more understated, hinting at a modern shape without being far from the orthodox. Its button placement is still quite unique, too, as the power switch and the volume rocker are placed on the back of the device, just under the camera – LG style.
3. Screen size is important to you
LG continued the tradition of packing the large 5.5” display in a comparatively small body, keeping the bezels around it modern thin. The G4’s screen-to-body ratio is 72.46% – that’s more even than the Galaxy S6 edge, which has a 71.75% ratio. What all this means is that, for a not-so larger device, you get a noticeably larger screen (5.5″ vs 5.1″ on the S6).
4. If storage flexibility is what you need
The Galaxy S6 comes in 3 variants of 32, 64, and 128 GB storage variants, and each tier costs an extra $100. The LG G4 makes things easier and certainly cheaper by coming in just a 32 GB variant, but toting a microSD card slot, which provides for more flexible and certainly cheaper expansion options.
5. Carrying an extra battery for twice the working time is your thing
Many were disgruntled by the fact that Samsung decided to go the non-removable battery way with the Galaxy S6. If having a user-replaceable juicebox is what helps you keep peace of mind throughout the day, the G4 may be more suitable for you.
