LG has released a press release today, revealing that a new “K Series” will soon be available. The new series will initially include two new smartphones – the “LG K7” and the “LG K10.” The two are now on display at CES 2016, which kicked off in Las Vegas on the 6th of January.
Say hello to the LG K7 and the LG K10
The new K Series replaces LG’s old L Series. The K7 and K10 features a new glossy pebble design and a new 2.5 D arc glass. Both feature a woven pattern on the back cover, which is designed to prevent the device slipping from users’ hands. According to LG, the two offer the “most advanced camera on a smartphone in this category.”
As for specs, the LG K7 features a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Under the hood is a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor for the 4G LTE version, while the 3G version features a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. The K7 will be available in a version with 16 GB of internal storage and 1.5 GB of RAM, while the other will feature 8 GB of internal storage and 1 GB of RAM. In the photography department, one version of the K7 features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, while the other features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Both versions will feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for snapping selfies and video chat. Keeping the lights on is a 2,125 mAh battery. The 4G LTE version will be available in a Titan colour option, while the 3G version will be available in White, Black, and Gold colour options. The LTE K7 will measure 143.6 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm, while the 3G K7 will measure 43.6 x 72.5 x 9.05 mm.
The LG K10 features a 5.3-inch In-cell screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (HD). Under the hood is a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor for the 4G LTE version, while the 3G version features a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. RAM options include 1 GB, 1.5 GB, and 2 GB options. Storage options include 8 GB and 16 GB options.
In the photography department, one version of the 4G LTE version will feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, while the other will feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The 3G version will feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Keeping the lights on is a 2,300 mAh battery. Colour options include White, Indigo and Gold. The K10 measures 146 x 74.8 x 8.8 mm.
Although LG is yet to reveal pricing, judging from these specs, the K7 and K10 will be affordable offerings. A launch date is yet to be determined as well.
