The Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and the HTC One M9 will soon hit shops around the world, but what about the LG G4? According to sources speaking to Korea Herald, LG’s next flagship will be launched towards the end of April.
The same report says that the LG G4 will be a “gamechanger” for the South Korean phone maker, with analysts expecting the smartphone to sell well despite the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge expected to break sales records.
Kiwoom Securities Co. said in a research note, “LG Electronics will take the upper ground in the second-tier battle. The G4 will sell 15 million units annually and add to the brand value of LG.”
Korea Investment & Securities Co. said, “Despite the strong sales of the iPhone 6 and the high expectations for the Galaxy S6, the sales of the G4 will be higher than the G3. We expect the sales of the G4 will reach 9.2 million units for 2015.”
To recap, the LG G4 is expected to sport a a 5.3-inch or a 5.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD) (pixel density of 554 ppi), a 16-megapixel or a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash and OIS (optical image stabilisation), a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, 32 to 64 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (as much as 128 GB), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the device. It will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It is said to measure 148.9×76.5×9.9 mm.
