We’ve seen the leaked renders of the upcoming LG G4, and they do look elegant. An analyst out of South Korea, however, predicts that the yet to be officially announced flagship will not sell as well as its predecessor the LG G3.
Speaking to The Korea Herald, IBK Investment & Securities analyst, Lee Seung-woo, said, “The leather-backed G4 seemed to be an impressive product. But the market conditions will not be favorable.” Why? This is due to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge expected to sell like hotcakes.
The analyst predicts that the LG G4 will not sell as well as the LG G3. LG shipped 10 million units of the LG G3, since it was launched in May.
An anonymous “industry source” told the publication that one reason why the LG G4 may not sell as well as its predecessor is its less powerful processor. The source said, “The site showed that the G4 would sport Qualcomm’s (slower) Snapdragon 808 chip instead of the latest Snapdragon 810, which I think might lose a selling point for LG.”
