Lately, we’ve been coming across a number of leaks involving the rumoured Nexus 6 (2015) phablet made by Huawei and the Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone made by LG. Now a post has leaked what is claimed to be the official specs of the LG Nexus 5 (2015).
LG Nexus 5 (2015) specs
The LG Nexus 5 (2015) specs sheet was posted on Chinese-speaking Weibo (China’s equivalent of Twitter). According to the source, the said unannounced smartphone will come with a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. This would mean that its screen would have a pixel density of 565 ppi. Under the hood will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53, two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 418 GPU, coupled with 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
Other rumoured specs revealed by leaked photos include a USB Type-C port, dual front-facing speakers, and a fingerprint scanner found on the back of the device. The photos also reveal that the LG Nexus 5 (2015) will be clad in metal.
The LG Nexus 5 (2015) is said to be a Sony IMX 278 sensor, which is a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation). The source claims that this camera will be more powerful compared to the rear-facing camera of the Huawei 6 (2015) phablet, but failed to say how the LG Nexus 5’s camera would outperform the camera of the Nexus 6 made by Huawei.
The source did not mention the megapixel count of the front-facing camera, nor did he say which manufacturer would be behind it, but we have learned from a previous report that a Google QA employee allegedly used the front-facing camera of the smartphone. the Exif data reveals that the LG Nexus 5 (2015) will sport a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Aside from the LG Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) phablet, the unannounced Nexus 8 tablet has also been leaked via a benchmark test. It is believed to come with a MediaTek octa-core processor under the hood. It is yet to be determined which manufacturer is behind the slate.
So when do we get to see the LG Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone, the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) phablet, and the Nexus 8 tablet make their official debut? Google traditionally lifts the lid on new Nexus devices in October. New Nexus devices are first to run the latest version of Android. In this case, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
